Kasol Tour Packages from Pune If you have done the budget Kasol group trip already, the one with the overnight bus and the dorm bed and the rushed Kheerganga climb, this is your chance to do it properly. And if you have not been yet, this is how to do it right the first time. Kasol is the most famous village in the Parvati Valley, loved by Pune's trekking and backpacker crowd for years. The riverside cafes, the Israeli food, the Kheerganga trek, the easy escape from city life. It is also, now, crowded, especially in season. Here is the honest version. The Parvati Valley is genuinely beautiful, with its river, pine forests, hot springs and treks. But the quiet that people picture when they imagine Kasol has moved a little up the valley, to Tosh, Pulga, Kalga and the trails. Kasol itself is busy. From Pune, you fly to Chandigarh or Delhi and continue into the valley. This page will help you decide which gateway, how many days, which treks suit you, and how to do Kasol comfortably, whether you are a group of friends, a couple, or a family. Featured Kasol Package Types from Pune 5 Days, 4 Nights: Pune to Kasol and Tosh The comfortable core trip. Fly to Chandigarh, drive into the valley, spend time in Kasol and the quieter village of Tosh, visit Manikaran and Chalal, and return. No demanding trek. Good for couples, families and returners who want Kasol's energy and Tosh's calm without the climb. 6 Days, 5 Nights: Kasol, Tosh and Kheerganga Trek The most popular format for trekkers. Everything in the core trip, plus the Kheerganga trek with an overnight camp at the hot spring near 3,000 metres. For reasonably fit travellers who want the marquee Parvati Valley trek done at a proper pace, not rushed. 7 Days: Complete Parvati Valley Circuit from Pune The full experience. Kasol, Chalal, Manikaran, Tosh, the quiet villages of Pulga and Kalga, the Kheerganga trek, and a respectful visit to Malana. The most relaxed and complete format, covering the parts of the valley that budget weekend trips skip. The Honest Truth About Kasol Today Most pages sell a romantic image of Kasol. The peaceful hippie village, the empty riverside cafe, the quiet trail. If you went years ago, that may be the Kasol you remember. It is only partly true now. Kasol has become one of the most popular weekend destinations from Delhi and Chandigarh, and a favourite of trekking groups from Pune and Mumbai. In season, the main road is busy, the cafes are full, and Kasol can feel more like a crowded tourist hub than a quiet escape. But the Parvati Valley is still beautiful, and the quiet is still there. It has just moved a little further up the valley. Tosh, a hillside village above Barshaini, has the best views in this part of the valley and a far calmer atmosphere. Pulga and Kalga, near the Kheerganga trailhead, are quieter still, with old wooden houses and apple orchards. The Kheerganga trek leads into proper forest and a hot spring near 3,000 metres. Chalal, a short walk from Kasol, is calmer than the main village. For a Pune traveller returning to Kasol, this is the key. The valley you loved is still there. You just need to base yourself a little away from the busiest part. We build trips that do exactly that. How to Reach Kasol from Pune Fly to Chandigarh, then drive (recommended for comfort). Direct flights from Pune take about 2 hours 20 minutes. From Chandigarh, a private cab takes you about 280 km into the valley, roughly 7 to 8 hours. The more comfortable approach. Fly to Delhi, then overnight to Bhuntar. Direct flights take about 2 hours. From Delhi, take the overnight Volvo or a private cab to Bhuntar, then Kasol. The classic route, often with cheaper fares. No direct flights to Kullu from Pune. Connecting flights to Bhuntar exist but add time and cost without much benefit. Chandigarh or Delhi is cleaner. After landing, we coordinate the vehicle and itinerary from your arrival. Route into the Parvati Valley From Chandigarh, the route runs through Bilaspur, Mandi and Bhuntar, then up the Parvati Valley to Kasol, about 280 km and 7 to 8 hours. From Delhi, the overnight journey covers about 490 km to Bhuntar, then 30 km up the valley to Kasol. From Bhuntar, the road follows the Parvati river up through Jari to Kasol, about 30 km. Manikaran is 6 km beyond Kasol. Barshaini, the trailhead for Kheerganga and Tosh, is about 20 km from Kasol. The Treks and Villages: Which One Suits You Kasol is the base. Cafes, food, shops, the river, easy access, the most people. Chalal is a short, easy walk from Kasol along the river. Quieter, with a few cafes. Manikaran is six km from Kasol. A Sikh gurudwara, hot springs and temples. Spiritually significant, with langar and healing hot spring pools. Tosh is a hillside village with the best valley views in lower Parvati and a calm atmosphere. The best base for quiet with comfort. Pulga and Kalga are small, quiet villages near the Kheerganga trailhead. Apple orchards, old wooden houses, very few crowds. Kheerganga is the marquee trek. A 12 to 14 km uphill walk through forest to a hot spring near 3,000 metres, with an overnight camp. Moderate difficulty. Malana is an ancient village with a unique, self governing culture and strict customs. Reached by a trek. Respect local rules, including restrictions on touching certain structures and photography in some areas. Is the Kheerganga Trek Right for You? Worth being honest about, because too many packages sell it as a casual walk. It is not. The trek is about 12 to 14 km one way, climbing from Barshaini to a hot spring at around 3,000 metres, taking most people 5 to 7 hours uphill, on a steep and rocky trail through forest and past waterfalls. For a fit adult, especially a Pune trekker used to the Sahyadris, it is a rewarding and very doable trek. Sahyadri fitness is more than enough for it. The reward is a natural hot spring at altitude and a night camping under the stars. It is not suitable for very young children, or for anyone with significant knee or heart issues, without medical clearance. If the trek is not for you, Tosh, the villages, Chalal, Manikaran and the river make a full, beautiful trip without the climb. Why Travel Coffee for Your Pune to Kasol Trip We plan for comfort, not just budget. Most Kasol packages are group buses and dorm beds. We plan private trips with good stays. We tell you where the quiet is, basing you in Tosh, Pulga or Kalga. We give honest trek guidance on whether Kheerganga suits your group. We plan from your flight, starting with your Chandigarh or Delhi landing time. We plan realistically around the monsoon landslide risk. Good stays, all personally checked, from riverside in Kasol to view stays in Tosh and proper camps at Kheerganga. And flexible support when roads and weather change. Safety, Roads and Honest Guidance Monsoon landslides are the most important safety point. The Parvati Valley is one of the more landslide prone parts of Himachal. July and August carry real risk. Plan outside this window if you can. Altitude: Kasol at 1,640 metres is low and safe. Kheerganga at around 3,000 metres is moderate. The treks are real treks; go with a guide, carry water, wear proper shoes. Highways to Bhuntar are good; the valley road beyond Bhuntar is narrow and winding, so avoid night driving in the mountains. The valley suits families for the river, villages and Manikaran, with treks better for older children and fit adults. Especially in Malana, follow local rules on photography and touching certain structures. Practical Travel Information Mobile network: Kasol and the main villages have reasonable coverage. On the treks, signal drops. BSNL and Jio work in most of the valley. Cash: Kasol has ATMs, but they can run out in season. Carry enough cash for villages and treks. Fuel: Fill up at Bhuntar or in the Kullu area. Inside the upper valley, options are limited. Packing: Layers, a warm jacket for evenings, sturdy shoes for treks, a rain layer outside the driest months, sunscreen, a headlamp for the Kheerganga camp, personal medicines and cash. Food: Kasol is a food destination. Israeli, Italian, local Himachali and standard Indian food. Plenty of vegetarian options. On the treks, simple camp fare.
