Arrive at Udaipur airport or railway station and transfer to your hotel. This city was the seat of the Mewar dynasty for four centuries, and the evening shows you why they chose it. The sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola passes Jag Mandir with the City Palace rising off the water, then a short walk brings you to Bagore Ki Haveli for the Dharohar folk show. Rajasthan does not do quiet first evenings, and you would not want it to.

Know Before You Go
The Kumbhalgarh road is a winding hill drive for the last stretch. The full excursion day involves 5 to 6 hours of driving, which is why we start at 8 am and why this tour has 3 nights, not 2
Ranakpur temple opens to non Jain visitors from around 12 noon to 5 pm. Our routing does the fort first for exactly this reason. Timings can shift on festival days, we reconfirm before your travel date
Leather items including belts, wallets and bags are not allowed inside Ranakpur temple. Leave them in the cab, lockers are also available at the entrance
Phone use is restricted inside the main Ranakpur temple and photography is allowed only during fixed hours. Entry is free for Indians, foreign visitors pay an entry fee with a camera charge and an audio guide
Kumbhalgarh involves a fair amount of uphill walking to reach Badal Mahal at the top. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water, shops inside are limited
The Kumbhalgarh light and sound show runs in the evening. If you want to stay for it we can rework the day, though you will return to Udaipur late
Monument entry fees are payable at the gate and are not part of the package. We keep them out so you pay the actual gate price, not a marked up one
Bagore Ki Haveli show seats are limited in season. We pre book your tickets, reach 15 minutes early for good seats
Boat rides depend on lake levels and can pause in late spring during dry years. We confirm the current status at the time of booking
April to June afternoons cross 40 degrees. If you travel in summer, we start the excursion day even earlier and shift city sightseeing to mornings and evenings
