Itinerary

Arrive at Udaipur airport or railway station and transfer to your hotel in the lake area. When your room is this close to the water, the first evening plans itself. The sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola passes Jag Mandir and gives you the best view of the City Palace, the one from the water. After the ride, it is a short walk to Bagore Ki Haveli for the Dharohar folk show, one hour of Rajasthani dance and puppetry in a 250 year old haveli. Dinner at a rooftop nearby and back to a room with the lake for a neighbour.

Monument entry fees are payable at the gate and are not part of the package. We keep them out so you pay the actual gate price, not a marked up one
City Palace needs two to three hours and a fair amount of walking. Wear comfortable shoes
The old city lanes are narrow. Your cab drops you at the nearest walking point for Gangaur Ghat and Bagore Ki Haveli, the rest is a short walk
Sajjangarh has a separate vehicle charge for the hill road, payable there
Bagore Ki Haveli show seats are limited and fill up in season. We pre book your tickets, reach 15 minutes early for good seats
Boat rides depend on lake levels and can pause in late spring during dry years. We confirm the current status at the time of booking
April to June afternoons cross 40 degrees. If you travel in summer, we shift sightseeing to mornings and evenings
Weekend hotel rates in Udaipur run higher than weekdays, especially October to March. Midweek travel gets you better rooms for the same budget
