You can find snow near Manali in April at higher altitude points like Solang Valley (2,560m), Gulaba (2,800m), and Sissu (3,120m) via the Atal Tunnel. Manali town itself has no snow by April. Early April (1st–15th) offers the best snow cover across most accessible points. Gulaba and the Atal Tunnel north portal side hold snow longer than Solang. Rohtang Pass is usually not open until late April or later. Hiring a local taxi is recommended over self-driving. Pack layered clothing, waterproof boots, sunglasses and SPF 50+ sunscreen.
