Know Before You Go
- Fixed departure: This New Year trip is scheduled from 30 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, with two accommodation nights in Tirthan Valley on 31 December and 1 January
- New Year's Eve celebration: The included celebration is a special dinner, a DJ night with music and a bonfire at the stay on 31 December, following the property's rules, permitted timings, weather and local permissions
- Celebration timings: DJ music and bonfire arrangements may need to finish before midnight if required by the property or local authorities, so music continuing until midnight cannot be guaranteed
- Four nights: Delhi and Chandigarh bookings include two nights at the Tirthan Valley stay and two overnight journeys. Four nights does not mean four hotel nights
- Winter road access: The road towards Jalori Pass may close because of snow or ice. The team checks conditions and travels only as far as safely permitted
- Raghupur Fort and Serolsar Lake: These trails are part of the fair-weather route but cannot be guaranteed on the New Year departure. The team may select one accessible trail or a shorter alternative depending on conditions
- Chehni Kothi: Reaching Chehni Kothi involves walking uphill on village paths. The visit may be shortened or skipped if the path is slippery or the return schedule does not allow enough time
- Waterfalls and village walks: Chhoie Waterfall, Jibhi Waterfall and Mini Thailand involve some walking on uneven or potentially wet surfaces. Sightseeing depends on safe access and available daylight
- Snowfall: Snow is possible around Shoja and Jalori Pass in late December and early January, but snowfall or snow-covered scenery on your dates cannot be guaranteed
- Transport: The overnight journey from Delhi or Chandigarh towards Aut is by Volvo or Tempo Traveller, confirmed for the departure. Valley transfers use a separate shared local vehicle suited to the group size and road conditions
- Stay: Accommodation is in budget hotels or homestays in the Tirthan Valley area. Expect practical winter facilities rather than luxury amenities, and hot water and room heating may be limited or separately chargeable
- Meals: The included meal plan is dinner on 31 December, breakfast and dinner on 1 January, and breakfast on 2 January. The New Year's Eve dinner is a special dinner, and other meals are excluded
- Walking and fitness: Some sightseeing points require uphill walking, uneven trails or steps. Guests who do not wish to walk should inform the coordinator and remain at an agreed accessible meeting point
- Trip coordination: The local driver and Travel Coffee team coordinate the group. A separate trip captain accompanies the departure only where confirmed in the booking arrangements
- Mobile connectivity: Network coverage may be inconsistent in Tirthan Valley, Shoja and higher areas. Carry some cash and save important booking details offline
- Packing: Bring thermals, warm layers, a heavy winter jacket, gloves, a warm cap, waterproof shoes with good grip, personal medicines and a power bank
- Travel delays: Winter road conditions and New Year traffic may affect travel time. Keep sufficient buffer before onward flights, trains or other commitments
