Your winter Spiti expedition begins in Delhi on the evening of 24 December. Reach the confirmed boarding point and settle into the overnight Volvo to Shimla. Know Before You Go

This is a fixed Christmas and New Year departure, 24 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, Delhi to Delhi. Seats are limited, so confirm early.
Winter conditions can change the plan. Expect severe cold, snow or ice and slower driving. Road closures can force a different route, stay, celebration location or return date. A 4x4 and snow chains do not guarantee access.
Christmas evening is planned at the Fagu-area stay on 25 December and New Year's Eve in Kaza on 31 December, both subject to reaching the locations safely. Follow the property's rules on music, heating and quiet hours. The morning of 1 January has an early departure.
This is a shared group expedition. The Volvo and the mountain 4x4s are shared, and rooms follow the option you book. 'Exclusive' refers to the special festive departure, not private transport. Seating positions are not guaranteed unless agreed in writing.
Pack for severe cold: thermal layers, down insulation, a proper winter jacket, waterproof winter boots with grip, gloves, a warm cap and a neck warmer, plus sunglasses, sunscreen and lip balm.
Mountain stays are practical winter accommodation: operating homestays, guesthouses or hotels. Expect local hospitality and simple arrangements. A festive departure does not mean premium rooms or central heating.
Heating and hot water are limited. Electric blankets, where available, warm the bed and not the room, and room heaters may cost extra. Frozen pipes can mean bucket water and shared or dry toilets. An attached bathroom and a daily hot shower cannot be guaranteed throughout. Tell the team before payment if a facility is essential for you.
Altitude needs care. Kaza is around 3,800 m and the villages rise above 4,500 m. Keep activity light on arrival, report headache, nausea or unusual fatigue promptly, and do not go higher while unwell. Discuss any health conditions or past altitude illness with your doctor before booking.
Medical help is limited in remote areas. Carry your regular medicines and extra for delays. Emergency oxygen is carried but its use is chargeable and does not replace medical care or evacuation. Choose insurance that covers winter, altitude and evacuation.
Sightseeing depends on individual approach roads. An open road to Kaza does not mean every village road is open. Chitkul, Dhankar, Key, Chicham and the high villages are assessed separately, and monastery interiors and Hikkim's post office depend on local opening.
The route returns through Kinnaur. It does not include Chandratal, Kunzum Pass, a Manali crossing, Pin Valley or the Dhankar Lake trek. The Kunzum connection is closed in winter, so Manali is not an exit. Nako is a possible stop, not an overnight.
There is no dedicated weather buffer day. All eleven days have planned travel or activities, and snowfall can delay movement beyond 3 January. Avoid tight onward connections and keep extra time before an important flight, train or work commitment.
Connectivity and power can be unreliable. Carry emergency cash, a charged power bank and offline copies of your documents. Mobile service, internet, UPI and card payments may not work consistently, and batteries drain fast in the cold.
Every traveller must carry valid government photo ID. The route includes protected areas, so foreign passport holders must contact the team before paying to confirm permit eligibility, documents and charges in advance.
Meals use locally available supplies. Breakfast and dinner are provided at the stays; share allergies and dietary needs before booking, and carry snacks for the long drives.
Pack compactly, since vehicle space is shared. Bring manageable luggage and a small day bag, and confirm the luggage allowance before departure. Tell the team in advance about mobility needs, medical equipment or oversized bags.
Shimla or Chandigarh joining can be arranged on request and is quoted separately. Joining at Shimla on 25 December and finishing there on 2 January gives a nine-day itinerary with the eight hotel nights, without the two Delhi Volvo journeys.

The mountain sector is a shared 4x4, usually a Jimny, Scorpio N 4WD or another suitable confirmed 4x4. Ask for the model and seating allocation for your booking; the package does not promise one specific model unless it is named in writing.

Is this a private trip?

No. It is a fixed departure group expedition. The mountain 4x4s are shared and accommodation follows your booked room sharing. 'Exclusive' refers to the special festive departure, not private transport. Private arrangements need a separate quote.

Can I join solo or with my partner?

Yes. Solo travellers, couples and friends can join. Tell the team your room preference before payment. Solo pairing is subject to availability, and single occupancy is priced separately.

Can I join from Shimla or Chandigarh?

Yes, on request. Joining at Shimla on 25 December and finishing there on 2 January gives a nine-day itinerary with the eight hotel nights and no Delhi Volvo journeys. A Chandigarh option depends on the bus routing. Both are quoted separately; the listed price is for Delhi to Delhi.

Are Chitkul and all the Spiti villages guaranteed?

No. Each approach road is assessed separately. The team covers the accessible places and may change the sequence or shorten an outing. Reaching a village does not guarantee that every building or service is open.

Will the rooms have heating and private washrooms?

Facilities vary by property and winter conditions. Heating may be limited or chargeable, and frozen plumbing can affect attached bathrooms. Continuous hot water, central heating and private working washrooms are not assured throughout, so confirm your requirements before booking.

How fit and prepared do I need to be?

This suits travellers comfortable with severe cold, altitude above 4,000 m, long drives and simple winter facilities. Discuss children, older travellers, mobility needs and health concerns with the team before booking, and seek medical advice where appropriate.

Are oxygen and emergency evacuation included?

An emergency oxygen cylinder is carried on the mountain journey. Oxygen use, medical treatment and evacuation are charged separately, and immediate evacuation cannot be guaranteed in remote winter conditions.

Is there a weather buffer day?

No. All eleven days have planned travel or activities. Keep additional time after the scheduled Delhi arrival on 3 January, since snowfall can cause delays.

No-show or last-minute cancellations (after trip start) are non-refundable.
In case of weather disruptions, government restrictions, strikes, or other force-majeure events, alternate arrangements will be offered whenever possible. However, cash refunds are not available in such scenarios.

Payment Term Policy

A minimum 25–50% advance payment is required at the time of booking to block your slots.
The remaining balance must be cleared at least 30 days before travel for domestic trips and 45 days before for international trips.
