Know Before You Go
- November is often more late-autumn than peak snow. Snowfall, even in higher areas, depends on the weather and is not guaranteed.
- December to February can bring colder conditions, snow and icy roads that affect Gulmarg, Sonamarg and some Pahalgam routes. March conditions vary by altitude.
- Gulmarg Gondola tickets are not included in the package price. We can assist with advance booking at an additional cost, subject to ticket availability, booking confirmation, weather conditions and cable car operations. Early booking is recommended, but tickets cannot be guaranteed.
- Reaching Sonamarg town does not guarantee access to Thajiwas Glacier, Zero Point or Zoji La, which are higher up and often restricted in winter.
- Selected Pahalgam valley sightseeing uses authorised local taxis, which are separate from your main private cab. We explain the agreed circuit and any cost before booking.
- Chandanwari and Baisaran were named in the July 2026 district closure notice. We verify current permissions before each departure and do not assume they have reopened.
- During snowfall, the last stretch to Gulmarg may need a chained or 4x4 vehicle. This is weather-dependent and charged separately; if required, we share the price and arrangements in advance.
- Effective room heating is included during your hotel stay. We confirm the heating hours, hot water timing and power-backup details for your hotel before you travel.
- Winter days are short, so sightseeing may start early and some stops may be shortened for safety. The itinerary order may change with conditions.
- Carry thermals, a warm jacket, gloves, a cap, waterproof shoes, regular medicines, valid photo ID and some cash.
- Heavy snowfall, road restrictions or flight disruptions can affect the schedule, so keep some buffer if your onward plans are fixed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is six days enough to explore Kashmir?
Yes, for the classic highlights. This itinerary covers Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg and Pahalgam, with four sightseeing days between arrival and departure. It is an active trip rather than a slow-paced holiday.
Is this a private Kashmir tour package?
Yes. You travel in a private vehicle for your booking, with a private room and a private Shikara ride. The vehicle type depends on your group size, luggage and the confirmed arrangement.
What kind of hotels will we stay in?
Selected high-end 2-star or entry-level 3-star hotels in Srinagar and Pahalgam. The actual hotel names, room types, heating and meal plan are shared before confirmation.
Are Gulmarg Gondola tickets included?
No. Gulmarg Gondola tickets are not included in the package price. We can assist with advance booking at an additional cost, subject to ticket availability, booking confirmation, weather conditions and cable car operations. Early booking is recommended, but tickets cannot be guaranteed.
Is the Pahalgam local sightseeing taxi included?
Yes, one agreed authorised Pahalgam local taxi circuit (Aru and/or Betaab Valley) is included, subject to access. It is a separate local vehicle from your main cab, and any additional circuit is charged separately.
Can we expect snowfall on this trip?
Snowfall cannot be guaranteed. November is often autumn-like, while December to February can be colder and snowier. What you see depends on your exact dates and the weather.
Is Sonamarg open during winter?
Access to Sonamarg town has improved with the tunnel, but the road and local sightseeing must be checked for your travel day. Higher points like Thajiwas Glacier and Zero Point are not guaranteed in winter.
Is room heating included?
Yes. Effective room heating is included during your hotel stay, as per the confirmed hotel arrangement. We confirm the heating hours and hot water timing before you travel.
Do we need an additional vehicle in Gulmarg?
Sometimes. On snow or ice, the final stretch to Gulmarg may need a chained or 4x4 local vehicle. This is weather-dependent and charged separately; if required, we share the price and arrangements in advance.
Can we add a houseboat stay?
Yes, on request and at an additional cost. A Srinagar houseboat can replace one hotel night, subject to availability and verified winter heating, bathroom warmth and access.
Is this trip suitable for families and senior citizens?
It can be, though it includes some long excursion days. Families with young children or elderly members should consider the daily travel and walking. We can also plan a slower version with two Pahalgam nights instead of the Sonamarg day.
What happens if snowfall or a road closure affects sightseeing?
Our local team assesses conditions and suggests a safe, practical adjustment. Safety comes first, so inaccessible spots are not attempted just to complete the itinerary. Any additional arrangements or costs follow the terms shared before booking.
