Main Highlight
A comfortable private cab Shimla and Manali holiday with 2 nights in Shimla, 3 nights in Manali, selected 4 star hotels, and separate days for Kufri, Manali town, and the seasonal Rohtang Pass excursion with Solang Valley
Best Season
During the official Rohtang Pass operating period, once the authorities open the road and until snowfall makes it unsafe. The Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel, and Sissu route is planned for the rest of the year
Ideal For
Couples, families, senior travellers, and small private groups who want the Shimla and Manali circuit at a comfortable pace with their own cab
Know Before You Go
On the Delhi option, Day 1 and Day 6 are long road days. Delhi to Shimla is about 340 to 370 km and 8 to 10 hours, and Manali to Delhi is about 500 to 550 km and 12 to 15 hours or more. Start early, keep both days relaxed, and expect to reach Delhi late evening or night
The Chandigarh option makes both those days much easier. Chandigarh to Shimla is roughly 115 km and 3 to 4 hours, and Manali to Chandigarh is roughly 310 km and 9 to 11 hours. It also costs less, so it is worth choosing if you have senior travellers or young children
Because the last day can run late, especially on the Delhi option, do not book a tight train or flight that same night. Keep a good time gap for mountain traffic, roadwork, weather, and the congestion around Chandigarh and inside Delhi NCR
Your cab is private for your booking through the regular itinerary. The vehicle is chosen by your group size and luggage. A sedan suits two or three adults, an Ertiga or similar suits four or five, an Innova or Innova Crysta suits four to six wanting more comfort, and a Tempo Traveller suits larger families and groups
A specific model such as Innova Crysta is confirmed only when it is written in your booking confirmation. Sedan luggage space can be tight for four travellers, so please tell us your luggage in advance and we will size the vehicle properly. Air conditioning is generally used on the plains and may stay off on steep mountain roads, which is normal for hill driving
One pick up and one drop at your agreed location are included. Multiple pick up points or a location outside the agreed one may cost extra, and your pick up point should be reachable by the confirmed vehicle. Your driver helps with the route and local coordination but is not a professional guide
Shimla's Mall Road, The Ridge, and the area around Christ Church and Scandal Point are no vehicle zones. Your cab drops you at the nearest allowed point and you walk from there. Many Shimla hotels also sit above or below the road and may need a short walk up steps. Tell us if anyone in your group needs an easier access hotel and we will plan for it
Jakhoo Temple is a steep climb from The Ridge. You can walk up or use the ropeway, and ropeway tickets are paid directly. Watch your belongings there because of the monkeys
At Kufri, vehicles stop at a set point and cannot drive up to Mahasu Peak. From there it is a pony ride or a walk of roughly 30 minutes each way, at your own cost. Pony rates are not fixed, so agree the price clearly before you start
The Jogini Waterfall walk on the Manali day is optional and depends on time, weather, and how comfortable your group is with a moderate uphill walk
Rohtang Pass is seasonal and permit controlled. The excursion is in your plan but stays conditional on official access. It depends on the official opening, permit availability, the daily vehicle quota, weather, road conditions, administrative instructions, and local transport rules. Nobody can promise Rohtang before the permit is issued and the route is confirmed as safely running
The Rohtang permit also has a weekly maintenance day when the road is shut to tourist vehicles, and local rules can change. Your Rohtang day is Day 5, so your departure date decides where it lands. Ask our team while booking and we will help you pick a date that keeps Day 5 clear
If Rohtang is not possible, the full mountain day changes to Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel, the North Portal, Sissu, and the Sissu lake or waterfall viewpoint if the road allows. If that Lahaul route is also shut, we may offer Solang Valley with Sethan, Hamta Valley, or the nearest reachable snow point, depending on permissions and safety
No refund applies just because the mountain route changes for permit, weather, safety, or administrative reasons, as long as the alternative full day excursion is operated. If neither Rohtang nor the alternative can be run at all, the unused and recoverable amount for that excursion is refunded. Your hotels, meals, cab, and other completed services are not part of that refund, and any permit or congestion charge already issued and non refundable may be deducted
There is no refund if Rohtang is running and the arrangements are made, but you decide not to go, report late, or cannot travel for personal reasons
Snowfall and ground snow cannot be promised. Visiting Rohtang, Solang Valley, or Sissu does not mean there will be fresh snow or a set amount of it
Rohtang is high up. If you have breathing problems, heart conditions, or other health concerns, check with your doctor before you travel. Drink water, avoid heavy activity at height, and tell your driver or our team if you feel unwell
The usual hotel check in time is 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and check out is 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Early check in and late check out depend on availability and may cost extra. On Day 6 you leave early, so if the restaurant is not open yet we request a packed breakfast, subject to hotel policy
Your stay is in selected 4 star hotels in both towns, but a specific valley view, balcony, lift, or central heating is only promised when it is written in your confirmed hotel and room category. In the hills, room size and facilities can differ between properties even in the same category. The exact hotel names and room categories are shared before your booking is confirmed
Rooms are on double sharing unless your booking says otherwise. Triple sharing usually means an extra mattress or rollaway bed rather than three proper beds, and family or interconnected rooms depend on what the hotel has free. Tell us your group and room needs when you ask for a quote
Carry a valid government issued photo ID for every traveller, and something showing date of birth for children. Carry warm layers, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, basic medicines, and a reusable water bottle
The shown price is a starting price. The final cost depends on the vehicle, the number of rooms, hotel selection, travel dates, the number of travellers, and the Rohtang transport arrangement that applies. Peak season and long weekend supplements may apply
The price shown is per person and is the same for adults and children. If you are travelling with a young child who may not need an extra bed, share their age when you ask for a quote and we will confirm the final amount

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Your cab stays dedicated to your booking from pick up until your final drop, through the full regular itinerary. There are no shared sightseeing timings, so you can take comfort breaks, stop for photos, and travel at your family's pace. Only the Rohtang day may use a separate locally authorised vehicle where the rules require it.
