Itinerary

Board your overnight Volvo from Delhi and travel towards Shimla. After reaching Shimla the next morning, the Travel Coffee team will coordinate your pickup and transfer to the hotel. This day is kept relaxed so you can freshen up, check in, rest after the overnight journey, and slowly settle into the mountains before the longer Kinnaur and Spiti route begins the next morning. Depending on your arrival time and hotel location, you can spend the evening at leisure in Shimla or simply rest at the property.

Know Before You Go
Chandratal and Kunzum access is seasonal and condition led, so the plan may be adjusted for safety first travel
Camping is only in the designated camping zone and not at the lake shore, with a separate lake visit on foot as per local rules
Spiti is high altitude. Hydrate well, keep your pace slow, and avoid overexertion on the first few days
Mobile network is limited beyond Kinnaur and can be patchy in Spiti. Carry cash since ATMs may not be reliable
Chandratal nights can get very cold even in summer. Carry proper warm layers and gloves
Emergency oxygen support is carried in the vehicle, and it is chargeable only if used. It is not a substitute for medical treatment
Backup vehicle support can be arranged on demand if conditions require it. This is chargeable and depends on availability
Delhi to Shimla Volvo travel happens before the Shimla hotel stay begins. Please reach the Delhi Volvo boarding point on time, as missed boarding will be treated as a guest-side delay.
The first stay is in Shimla so guests can rest properly after the overnight Volvo journey before starting the longer drive towards Sangla and Spiti.

FAQ's

May to September is generally the best window for the Spiti full circuit when roads are accessible. Chandratal access depends on Kunzum opening and current conditions.

We had gone to Spiti Valley with our friends through Travel Coffee, and we would like to share our review. The journey was very enjoyable. The hotels and food provided were also very good. The vehicle and the driver, Mr. Vicky, were excellent, and his nature was very friendly and helpful. Overall, Travel Coffee organized a wonderful and very well-managed tour for us. From the very first inquiry to the last day of the trip, she was there to handle all our concerns and logistical needs. Having that level of reliability both prior to and during the trip made all the difference in our peace of mind. The logistics on the ground were handled with military precision. Our Tour Captain and Driver, Amit Kumar, was exceptional. Navigating a 4x4 Jimny through heavy snow and icy mountain passes requires immense skill, and Amit’s expert driving made us feel completely safe in the harshest conditions. Despite the sub-zero (-25c) temperatures and limited resources typical of this season, Travel Coffee ensured we had top-class food and stays. A rare highlight for a winter trip was having accommodations with separate washrooms and a reliable water supply—a luxury that is almost impossible to find in Spiti this time of year. We went on a customised trip to Spiti with Travel Coffee. Had a wonderful experience enjoying the picturesquare landscape and visiting high altitude places of India. All the hotels / stays were very comfortable. Drivers were excellent and guide us very well.
