Chandratal is condition led. If access is not safe due to weather or road status, we adjust the plan to the best safe alternative.

Where do we camp for Chandratal Lake?

Camping is arranged only in the designated camping zone, not at the lake shore, as per forest rules. The lake is visited on foot from the campsite.

Is this trip suitable for first time Spiti travellers?

Yes. This route builds acclimatisation gradually through Narkanda, Kinnaur, and then Spiti before the Chandratal day. The pacing is designed for first timers.

What will we cover on the Kaza sightseeing day?

The itinerary includes the high village circuit with Hikkim, Komik, and Kibber. We try to add extra spots like Langza when time and road conditions allow.

How cold does it get at Chandratal and Kaza in summer?

Kaza daytime temperatures range between 15 and 25 degrees but nights can drop to 5 degrees or lower. Chandratal sits above 4,200m and nights can touch zero even in July. Pack thermals and warm layers.

What about mobile network and ATM availability?

Mobile network is limited beyond Kinnaur and patchy in Spiti. BSNL works best. ATMs exist in Kaza but can run dry or go offline. Carry enough cash for personal expenses.

Do you provide oxygen support on this tour?

Yes. An emergency oxygen cylinder is kept in the vehicle for every departure. It is chargeable only if used, and there is no charge if it is not used. This is a support measure and not a substitute for medical treatment.

Do you provide a backup vehicle?

Backup vehicle support can be arranged on demand if conditions require it. It is chargeable and depends on availability in that region.

What if roads close due to landslides or sudden weather?

Safety comes first. We reroute or adjust stay points based on real time updates and the safest workable plan.

Board your overnight Volvo from Delhi and travel towards Shimla. After reaching Shimla the next morning, the Travel Coffee team will coordinate your pickup and transfer to the hotel. This day is kept relaxed so you can freshen up, check in, rest after the overnight journey, and slowly settle into the mountains before the longer Kinnaur and Spiti route begins the next morning. Depending on your arrival time and hotel location, you can spend the evening at leisure in Shimla or simply rest at the property.
