Main Highlight
Special August Spiti circuit timed for Ladarcha Fair, Spiti's biggest annual festival, with 3 nights in Kaza, the Kibber and Chicham heritage belt, the full Kinnaur to Spiti route, Kunzum Pass, and Chandratal
Best Season
August, timed for Ladarcha Fair (third week of August, right after Independence Day)
Ideal For
Friends, solo travellers, culture lovers, photographers, offbeat travellers, and Spiti first timers who want landscapes and living festival culture in one trip
Know Before You Go
Ladarcha Fair is held in the third week of August in Kaza, right after Independence Day, but the exact daily program and timings are announced locally each year. Travel Coffee plans the Kaza days flexibly so the group gets the best possible festival experience based on the final on ground schedule
Even in the rare case a specific performance or program shifts, this trip is fully worth it on its own. You still get the complete Spiti circuit, 3 nights in Kaza, the high villages, the Kibber and Chicham heritage belt, Kunzum Pass, and Chandratal. The festival is the bonus on top of an already complete journey
Accommodation around Kaza fills up fast during Ladarcha week, which is exactly why this batch books 3 nights in Kaza in advance. Seats are limited and booking early is strongly recommended
Chandratal access depends completely on road clearance, weather, and local permissions. Camping is only at the designated campsite near Chandratal, never at the lake shore, since the lake is a protected wetland. You walk a short distance from the campsite to the lake. If Chandratal is not accessible, the stay and route shift to the safest available alternative
Spiti is high altitude. Stay hydrated, eat light, avoid alcohol, and follow the coordinator's guidance. The Shimla and Kinnaur entry is designed to help you acclimatise gradually, and Chandratal sits late in the route for the same reason
August can bring rain and landslide risk on the Kinnaur side. Road timings can shift. Keep your schedule flexible and avoid booking a tight onward connection on the morning you reach Delhi
Network is limited beyond Kaza and internet may not work in many areas. ATMs are unreliable in Spiti, so carry enough cash. Hotels and camps in remote areas are basic, hot water may be limited, and power cuts can happen
Long travel hours are expected on several days. This is a real Himalayan circuit, not a relaxed holiday
Carry warm layers, personal medicines, sunscreen, sunglasses, a reusable water bottle, and basic snacks. Respect local culture, monasteries, people, and village rules, and do not litter

We had gone to Spiti Valley with our friends through Travel Coffee, and we would like to share our review. The journey was very enjoyable. The hotels and food provided were also very good. The vehicle and the driver, Mr. Vicky, were excellent, and his nature was very friendly and helpful. Overall, Travel Coffee organized a wonderful and very well-managed tour for us. Even though oxygen problems are common in Spiti Valley, no one in our group faced any difficulty because the entire tour was very well organized by Travel Coffee. Special Thanks to Mr. Sachin & Ms. Vanshika.

Title: The Gold Standard for Winter Spiti Expeditions "Exploring Spiti Valley in the dead of winter is an extreme challenge, but Travel Coffee turned a difficult expedition into a seamless, high-end experience. A massive, special thanks to Preeti Jasyal for her incredible, continuous support. From the very first inquiry to the last day of the trip, she was there to handle all our concerns and logistical needs. Having that level of reliability both prior to and during the trip made all the difference in our peace of mind. The logistics on the ground were handled with military precision. Our Tour Captain and Driver, Amit Kumar, was exceptional. Navigating a 4x4 Jimny through heavy snow and icy mountain passes requires immense skill, and Amit’s expert driving made us feel completely safe in the harshest conditions. Despite the sub-zero (-25c) temperatures and limited resources typical of this season, Travel Coffee ensured we had top-class food and stays. A rare highlight for a winter trip was having accommodations with separate washrooms and a reliable water supply—a luxury that is almost impossible to find in Spiti this time of year. Special thanks also to Sachin Thakur and Saurabh for their flawless coordination. If you want to experience the 'Middle Land' in winter without compromising on safety or essential comforts, Travel Coffee is the only way to go. 5/5 stars!"

A special thanks to our coordinator Ishita, who planned the trip very well and ensured everything went smoothly from start to finish. Her coordination made the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable. Our driver Ravi bayya was also excellent. He is very friendly, professional, and an experienced driver who handled the challenging mountain roads with great skill. Thanks to him, we felt safe and comfortable throughout the journey. One of the highlights of the trip was experiencing beautiful snowfall, which made our Spiti journey even more memorable. Overall, it was a wonderful trip filled with great memories.
