Main Highlight
Full Spiti circuit on Royal Enfield Himalayan (411cc or 450cc) with Chandratal lakeside camping, Kunzum La crossing, five valleys, and local Himachali crew
Best Season
June to September
Ideal For
Solo riders, friend groups, couples on bikes, experienced riders, and first time Himalayan riders who want a structured expedition with local support
Know Before You Go
You need a valid motorcycle licence to ride as Solo Rider. Pillion riders and backup vehicle passengers do not need one
Spiti reaches up to 15,500 ft at Komic. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol at altitude, and follow the road captain's acclimatisation guidance every day
Day 2 is deliberately a short test ride of about 100 km so the road captain can assess your comfort on the bike. Day 4 is deliberately short at about 90 km as an acclimatisation buffer before the big Kaza push on Day 5. Both are by design
Riding experience on a 400cc or above motorcycle is recommended for Solo Riders. If you are new to riding, choose the Dual Rider or Backup Vehicle tier and enjoy the exact same Spiti experience without the bike pressure
Mobile network: Jio and Airtel work until Kinnaur then drop off. BSNL postpaid works best for calling in Spiti. ATMs are unreliable past Reckong Peo. Carry Rs 5,000 to 10,000 in cash for lunches, personal expenses, and monastery fees
Expect long riding days on Day 3 (about 200 km) and Day 5 (about 220 km). The road captain sets the pace and the sweep rider stays behind the slowest rider. No one gets left behind
Pack layers: it can be 25 degrees during the day and drop to 0 degrees at night at Chandratal. Thermals, riding jacket, waterproof layer, and warm gloves are essential
Use a rucksack or duffle bag (max 15 kg). Trolley bags do not work on bike trips. Heavy luggage goes in the backup vehicle
Rain coats are compulsory. July and August can bring unexpected showers at any point on the route
The 450cc Himalayan upgrade is subject to availability on a first come first serve basis. If your preferred bike is not available for your batch, the team will inform you before departure
Persons with asthma or serious cardiac conditions should consult their doctor before joining any high altitude bike tour

FAQ's

June to September. June and September are the sweet spots with fewer crowds, clear skies, and all routes open. July and August can bring rain and occasional landslides but the clouds and green patches make for dramatic riding. The full Chandratal and Kunzum route typically opens by mid June.
