Frequently Asked Questions

How many days is this McLeodganj and Triund group trip?

The full trip runs over five calendar days, with an overnight Volvo on the first and last nights. You get three days at the destination and two accommodation nights, one in a hotel in McLeodganj or Bhagsu and one at the campsite below Triund. Delhi boarding is on the evening of day one, and Chandigarh boarding may be the same evening or after midnight, confirmed before travel.

Can I join from Delhi or Chandigarh, and what is the price difference?

Yes. You can choose Delhi to Delhi or Chandigarh to Chandigarh while booking. Chandigarh is one thousand rupees less per person than Delhi for the same sharing option, because the Volvo leg is shorter. The destination plan, stays, meals and local arrangements stay the same.

What are the prices for each sharing option?

From Delhi, quad sharing is Rs 6,499, triple is Rs 6,999 and double is Rs 7,499 per person. From Chandigarh, quad is Rs 5,499, triple is Rs 5,999 and double is Rs 6,499 per person. Quad means four guests share a hotel room, triple means three and double means two. Tent sharing at camp is arranged separately and confirmed before booking.

Is GST included in the price?

Yes. The price you see is per person and includes all applicable taxes, including GST, so the amount shown is the amount you pay. There is no separate tax added at the end.

Is the Triund trek suitable for beginners?

Beginners with suitable fitness can join. Expect several hours of uphill and downhill walking on an uneven trail. The local guide sets a steady pace and allows breaks, but you should be comfortable spending a good part of the day walking.

Where do we camp during the trip?

After the Triund viewpoint, we descend to a confirmed organised campsite below Triund before dark. You stay in shared tents with sleeping bags and mats. Toilets are basic and shared. We share the exact campsite and tent arrangements before you book. We do not camp on the Triund hilltop itself.

Are six meals included?

Yes. The package includes breakfast and dinner on the hotel day, breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner on the trek and camp day, and breakfast on the descent morning. Lunch on the sightseeing day and the descent day, the final dinner, bus meals and cafe purchases are extra.

Can I freshen up before check-in and after the trek?

Yes. Shared freshening facilities are included on the morning you arrive, and shared day-use rooms are arranged after the trek on the descent day. Your overnight room is allocated at the hotel's usual check-in time, generally around noon or early afternoon. Private early check-in or a private day-use room is extra.

Where can I leave my main luggage during the trek?

Leave your main bag in the hotel's agreed storage during the trek and collect it afterwards. Carry a smaller overnight backpack with your essentials for camping, and keep your valuables with you.

What is covered in Dharamshala?

Your Volvo arrival and departure are through Dharamshala, with the listed local transfers included. The main sightseeing is on foot around McLeodganj and Bhagsu, covering the Dalai Lama Temple complex, the McLeodganj and Bhagsu markets, Bhagsu Nag Temple and the cafes, followed by an evening drive to the Naddi viewpoint for sunset. An optional Dharamkot walk can be added if time and daylight allow. A short HPCA Cricket Stadium stop is planned on the descent day if tourist access, the descent and traffic allow, and entry tickets are extra.

Is the Dharamkot walk part of the fixed plan?

The Dharamkot village walk is optional and can be added in the late afternoon before the Naddi drive, if your arrival timing, daylight and energy allow. It is an uphill walk to a quiet village with more cafes. If you would rather rest, you can use that time for McLeodganj or Bhagsu cafes instead. Cafe bills and any optional taxi are at your expense.

What happens if the weather affects the trek or camping?

The captain and local guide adjust the plan to the trail access and conditions on the day. If trekking or camping cannot operate, we explain the available alternative and any accommodation or cost difference before proceeding.

What should I pack?

Comfortable walking or trekking shoes with good grip and spare socks, a small overnight backpack for the trek and a main bag for hotel storage, warm layers and a windproof or rainproof outer layer, a torch or headlamp, a charged phone and power bank, a reusable water bottle, personal toiletries and your regular medicines, sun protection, identification and some cash for personal expenses. Please also carry a bag to bring your waste back down.

Can I join this group trip on my own?

Yes, solo travellers join our group departures regularly. Ask us about the room and tent sharing options for your preferred departure, and we will explain them before you confirm your place.

Can I join from Ambala?

We can arrange Ambala to Ambala on request. Tell us your preferred departure and we will confirm Volvo availability, pickup and drop points, timings and the final price before you book. Until that is confirmed, Ambala is an enquiry option rather than a fixed price.
