Know Before You Go
Leh sits at 11,500 ft. Day 1 is strictly for acclimatization. Do not skip it, do not rush it, and avoid any physical exertion on arrival day
Stay hydrated throughout the trip. Aim for 3 to 4 litres of water daily and avoid alcohol completely in the first 48 hours
Turtuk is close to the Line of Control. Inner Line Permit is required and we arrange it as part of your package
Turtuk is a Balti Muslim village. Dress modestly, ask before photographing locals, and respect the cultural customs of the community
There are no ATMs, no mobile network, and no fuel stations in Turtuk. Carry sufficient cash before leaving Leh
Carry warm layers even in summer. Nights at Pangong and Nubra can drop to near freezing temperatures regardless of the season
Mobile network works in Leh town (Jio and Airtel postpaid). Signal is limited or absent at Nubra, Turtuk, Pangong, and en route to the passes
Pangong stays operate in permitted village belts such as Spangmik and Merak. Camping on the immediate shoreline is not allowed
Pack sunscreen SPF 50+, UV protective sunglasses, lip balm, and heavy moisturizer. The sun at altitude is intense and deceptive
FAQ's
This tour adds a full extra day dedicated to Turtuk, India's last village before the Pakistan border. Turtuk brings a completely different cultural experience with Balti Muslim heritage, stone lane villages, apricot orchards, and the Balti Heritage Museum. The standard loop covers Leh, Nubra, and Pangong but misses this side of Ladakh entirely.
