Live road reality: Khardung La / Chang La may shut with snowfall; we adjust the plan per official advisories on the day
Flying is sensible in core winter: Highways may shut; flights operate weather-permitting — keep buffers for onward connections
Mobile & money: Only Indian postpaid SIMs (Airtel/Jio/BSNL) work reliably; coverage is limited outside town — download offline maps and carry some cash
Pangong rules: Stays operate in permitted village belts (e.g., Spangmik/Merak) when routes are open; no immediate-shoreline camping
